πŸ“– Scripture Β· John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
This verse has been called "the gospel in a nutshell" β€” one sentence that carries the whole heart of God's salvation.

"God so loved the world" β€” love begins with God, not with our loveliness. "That he gave his only Son" β€” love's price was the Father's most precious gift, a real self-giving on a real cross. "That whoever believes in him" β€” love's doorway is not education, wealth or good deeds, but simple trust, open to everyone. "Should not perish but have eternal life" β€” love's outcome is a life completely made new.

Perhaps today you feel unworthy of love, or too weighed down to see any hope. Remember: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). You do not need to become good enough first. You only need to reach out the empty hand of faith.

Prayer: Father, thank You for loving me enough to give Your only Son. Fill me with this love every day, and let it flow through me to those around me who do not yet know You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
